A local nature reserve following the River Cole Valley for around four miles through south Birmingham. The linked green spaces include the John Morris Jones Walkway, Cole Bank Playing Fields and The Dingles, with riverside woodland and meadow paths. Birmingham City Council welcomes dogs in its parks; keep dogs under control, clear up and follow current local signs. The council's 5km walking route starts at Sarehole Mill on Cole Bank Road and links riverside paths with Trittiford Mill Pool before returning. Expect road crossings and mixed paths; riverside ground may be wet. Access and facilities vary between sections. Official information: birmingham.gov.uk
