An 11-hectare woodland and wetland nature reserve associated with J.R.R. Tolkien's childhood. Birmingham & Black Country Wildlife Trust confirms dogs are permitted and the reserve is open at all times, all year. Routes enter from Yardley Wood Road, Pensby Close and Windermere Road; many are suitable for buggies and wheelchairs, but check conditions and access needs with the Trust. Parking availability varies by entrance and events: check signs and closing times, and do not park on the Yardley Wood Road verge. Keep dogs under control, protect wildlife and follow current signs. Contact the Trust on 0121 523 0094 or info@bbcwildlife.org.uk. Official visitor information: bbcwildlife.org.uk
